The January edition of Creative Corner sets the tone for a creatively charged year ahead, highlighting cultural must-sees, industry-leading conferences, and design trends shaping 2025. It also celebrates a meaningful milestone for Schweitzer Designs—one year of boutique creative work built on trust, partnership, and bold ideas.
We begin with the Art of the Brick exhibition, making its way to Washington, D.C. after touring more than 100 cities across 24 countries. Featuring over 130 works created from more than a million LEGO bricks, this vibrant, joy-filled show transforms everyday materials into sculptural art. It’s playful, immersive, and a must-experience moment for art lovers and families alike.
Our Conference Spotlight highlights the inaugural Freelancer Connect conference, hosted by The One Club for Creativity in New York City. Designed specifically for creative freelancers, the event covers business growth, branding, tax strategy, LLC structure, and best practices—equipping independent designers, photographers, and creatives with tools to strengthen and scale their businesses.
In this month’s 2025 Design Trend Spotlight, we look at Minimal Type, a trend placing typography at the center of visual identity. With clean layouts, intentional white space, and a “less is more” approach, minimal type is shaping everything from luxury branding and streetwear to e-commerce, posters, and editorial design. The result is bold simplicity—design that speaks quietly and confidently.
Our Artist Pick turns to Tacombi, a restaurant brand known for pairing incredible food with exuberant, retro-inspired design. From its warm typography and playful illustrations to its vibrant environmental branding, Tacombi proves that hospitality experiences resonate most when storytelling and design work in harmony.
In What’s in the Oven, we spotlight a suite of printed materials created for Children’s National’s A Vintage Affair, an annual auction event that has raised more than $14 million for hospital programs since 2005. Your studio’s work supports a deeply impactful evening of food, wine, philanthropy, and community.
This issue also marks the one-year anniversary of Schweitzer Designs—a milestone made possible by the trust, enthusiasm, and support of your clients. It’s a moment of gratitude and momentum as you head into another year of elevated, thoughtful creative partnerships.
Rooted in design trends, creative business insights, cultural experiences, hospitality branding, and nonprofit event design, this edition of Creative Corner opens the year with clarity, inspiration, and purpose.
